Yeah, I thought it looked a lil weird with the title, but the explainations were good. I was confused why Hissatsu, Tenka Muteki no Daishouri, and Teyandee were not translated though.
You'll find my explaination in the translator notes that will be released with the next subtitled episode. Long story short, some things are better left untranslated, so they can be better explained in detail.

I'm guessing that there are some words in there that are not kid friendly. Am I right?

It's not so much about not being "kid friendly", but that some of these words don't have exact English translations. For example, there is no English word for "teyandee". You can find something close, depending on the context it is used in, but it's just not the same. It's better to just leave it and have you learn a new word. If you know teyandee means teyandee, you'll understand it better.

Really some words or phrases don't have an exact way to be translated to English. I'll try to give some insights about them.
hissatsu:
literally killing or mortal, it's employed in the sense of
nekome surasshu
being the ultimate attack technique.
tenka muteki no daishori:
is something like "the great victory of the most invincible (or stronger) one in the whole world".
teyandee:
see
this thread
.
I'm not good in English, so am not sure if could give the most accurate translation possible.

Some words sound better in their original language... For example Sailor Moon, the protagonist's name is Usagi Tsukino that means Bunny of the Moon; can you think how annoyiong wopuld be the series if you always name her Bunny of the Moon?? Usagi sounds a lot better and cause that Teyandee sounds a lot bette... In fact I thought ythat you will use neko me Slash instead cat's Eye Slash...

The English subbed KNT 01 episode was released! It's available at Nyanki Fanatics, and at Supersonic's and Matsumoto's FTP server, choose the most suitable one for downloading.
Tigriss prepared a translator note, very useful to understand some subtleties brought by Japanese language.
Thanks to all coworkers that turned this release possible, specially the leader and the inspirer of the Dream Project, Tigriss.

Oh, wow, I enjoyed that episode IMMENSELY. Thank you everyone for doing such a wonderful job! <3
I think Ko'on~no~kami is becoming my favorite character now. The scene between him and Wanko~no~kami cracked me up.

Though I've not had time to watch it yet, bravo to everyone involved in Project Dream for their hard work in making subbed KNT possible!
And remember peeps, to avoid cluttering this thread, save reviews and extended discussion of the ep itself for Critic's Corner.

I just found a torrent for the first episode that another fansub group has done of Kyatto Ninden Teyandee (though they labelled it as Cats Toninden Teyandee). The website is
here
. I don't know the quality of the subs/translation yet, but it's interesting to know that someone else has an interest in this series too. And if they're serious about picking up the project, maybe they could help out Project Dream somehow.

They were only doing One Shots, which means just ep 1. I found them too, looking at the torrent site for another unrelated anime. I doubt they want to do any more episodes, but you could ask them to help I guess. The torrent has plenty of seeders the last time I checked. I watched it, and it did have some interesting alternate translations but Project Dream people will have to watch it.

I watched this video file just now, so am able to comment it. Their translation isn't very accurate, many lines don't correspond to what is spoken. It seems their aim was making this fan sub friendly to the English speaking audience, but loosing coherency with the original script. For example,
'Nyankii'
was replaced by
'Memeow'
(sounds a bit odd though). In some parts I found small mistakes, and also words or phrases which weren't translated at all.
The main aim of
Project Dream
is to get the highest degree of accuracy, as stated by Tigriss. Besides,
Project Dream
is strongly focusing SPC/KNT only, but
One Shots
seems to work with broader choice (in other words, we are specialists and they are generalists). Therefore the two projects have very different approaches, so I'm not sure if both could work together, or even have any common interest. Anyway Tigriss is whom must give decision about this matter.
Personally I think it's great to have another group working with KNT subbing, and hope they could help us eventually.
