Why is Hollywood digging so deep, recycling any old TV show, and even cartoons?  Making sequel after sequel, rarely daring to try making anything original.  So afraid to do anything new.

God damn it, my Memories of s Sweet Childhood have officialy been shattered. This is worse then when i found out the Horror that was the House of the Dead movie. And even the Alone in the Dark movie (both directed by Uwe Boll, AKA Today's Ed Wood.)

This'll go down as well as that Garfield movie did.  Or the Rocky and Bullwinkle movie that bombed several years ago.

The only thing one can do is to not accept it as cannon.  It's as different for the source material as Disney Pooh is different from Milne's.

Or that Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy movie a while back...

Up next. . .David the Gnome - The Movie followed by Duck Tales Adventures with Darkwing Duck Advanced right on time for Christmas.

As a kid, I used to think the chipmunks were actually humans. In fact, it was only after seeing them clearly rendered as chipmunks in that poster that I was able to remember that I know they are not humans. Whoops. I say let 'em do what they want. I'll avoid this movie like the plague because it looks so cheesy. If I were an actor, I couldn't imagine accepting a part like this. I'd be too embarrassed at myself. In any case, they obviously must be making some money off of doing this sort of thing. To my understanding, Hollywood goes with what sells. That's why almost every single CG movie out there is about animals. With Teen-Age Mutant Ninja Turtles being decent and the Transformers doing okay, I assume they figured it was only natural to keep up their stride by making something like this.

Let me go off topic here for just a second. If you guys think this is scary, you'll be terrified to hear that there are plans in the works to make Ghost in the Shell into a live-action movie. Of course, you would only be disturbed at that if you are a GITS fan. Production IG seems somewhat determined to make this the next addition in the franchise and I honestly think it would just destroy the series. There is no actress out there decent enough to be Major Kusanagi or at the very least have the tenacity to research the character enough to properly portray her. So much for my dreams about a prequel season.

Oh, well. At least they're trying to get good ideas, right?

Guess I'm the only one here that hated the Chipmonks...  I'm impartial to it all, I'd prefer they go back to making "Generic action / comedy / romance / horror movie #340.000.000"...  Since I know it'll only be a matter of time before they find something I did like as a child.

Only thing really doable is to not see it.  I sincerely doubt it'll be successful.
