The Baddest Crow On The block!

This is a cut and paste from what I said on some other sites. Don't shoot me.

Heh. I finally got mine. I had to wait a bit for another shipment to hit Best Buy because they were sold out the first time I got there (don't know how significant that is though). Anyway, here's my thoughts.

So far, I've watched episodes on all four discs, and I have yet to run into any glitches. What immediately caught my eye was the short menu animation sequences that were totally new. They looked exactly like the SatAM's animation style, but had a slightly more polished look to them. And they were awesome, especially the one for Disc 3's menu. That was just tight. Guess it IS possible to do further SatAM animations in the same style as the series is in.

Anyway, as I said, there doesn't seem to be any major issues with the discs themselves. They haven't skipped yet, they haven't gone to the next scene or episode. In fact, the only thing I can see wrong with it is that the Season 1 episodes seem to be slightly out of order. But that isn't too big of a deal, since Season 1's episodes can almost be watched in any order, with the exception of Heads or Tails (the pilot) and Sonic Boom (considered to be the unofficial first episode). Season 2 on the other hand, has to be watched in the order it's listed in, or it won't make sense.

And all I can say about the series is, it has Snively and Robotnik! The two coolest villains to EVER menace a cartoon series! And that's just the tip of the iceberg. Do I really even NEED to go any further in terms of my thoughts on the show?

Overall, I haven't watched every episode yet, but everything seems to be in order. I had to turn the volume up a bit to hear it, but that's what I have to do with every DVD I play on my PS2, so that doesn't really mean anything.

I haven't gotten to the interviews yet, but I will probably be watching them in a day or two. I'm interested to see what Ben has to say (not to mention what he looks like; I've never seen the guy before, only read and heard him). But I'm also interested to see what Jaleel White (Urkel) has to say about his role as the blue guy.

You can expect a full review (again) once I view the entire boxset's contents.

That's it for my pre-thoughts. If you don't have it yet, what the heck are you waiting for? Go out and get it. Even if you've never seen the show, it's worth checking out.

This is awsome. I didn't get to watch every episode back in the day. I had to take swimming lessons on a lot of Saturday Mournings. This show was the reason I wanted to quit my swimming lessons. My parents eventually let me quit, but they made me finish the month they had paid for. I ended up missing the entire last season.

So now I get to see the whole series! I haven't seen it on store shelves yet.

I hope they deside to put The Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog on DVD. That cartoon was much better. Just Sonic,Tails, the Fat-Ass and his two retarded minions.

Well despite the fact that all the secondary characters are one-dimensional (with the especially annoying frenchy as no exception), it still ends up as awesome.  I CAN'T believe that I missed it completely!

Adventures of sonic the hedgehog has been on limited release for some time now in europe, there is a 21 disc box set in france which has everything up until the last season of X. i'm glad whomever distrubuted and pressed sonic satam to dvd didn't do such a bad job as the company who did my french SPC set - i've had to order volume 4 again as it won't even play in any of my DV equipment. but yea, i'm probably gonna pick this up, so i can throw away my old VHS copies Grin

Anyone else waiting for a SatAM release outside the US? It's hinted that it will be released in the UK sometime soon according to the BBFC site. I have watched all the episodes in VHS one time when it was shown on POP (kid's channel) two or three years ago, but the cassettes only dampened the quality of the shows. It'd be so cool to watch all the extras too - you can't miss that.

Well, I kind of liked the show as a kid, but I hated the parts with magic and dragons, it made no sence.

Shocked Funny... 'cause I took swimming lessons every time the show is on, too. I'd still play Shinobi on the arcade before I came home to watch it.
And I loved to watch Robotnik on AoStH and his madcap mishaps. Grin

AoStH managed to prove that there is only one thing more vile and fat than Dr. Robotnik...

What's best about this DVD release is that you can get all the episodes in one package for just 20 bucks!

Just bought it today with my tax return money! Grin

Sorry to resurrect an old thread but has anyone heard any more about a definite UK release date for this?  As far as I remember (and please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong), the UK only got six episodes of SatAM before it was pulled for some reason.  I'd love to have the whole thing.

The Power Rangers was part of it.  But it was also the new president of ABC who wanted nothing to do with the series.  He probably had at least as much, if not more to do with it being cancelled.

I'm just glad there's people that still remember the show.

ROFL, they are funny, & they look like they are made from rubber! ah the memorys & Tails was brown, unlike in the Sonic X, where he is yellow!
