i will say one thing, if anyone wants a HD screenshot of any frame within the series, let me know.

i'll need the episode name and rough time, and if possible a low res screenshot so i have something to compare to.

lol well the system is made mainly for rendering. i can tell you the specs now;

8 opteron 8214HE processors (2.2ghzx2 per cpu), 128gb of ecc registered pc5300 ddr2 ram, 2gb of graphics(quad sli 2 7950x2s)
4Tb of sata II hard drive space, and a few other bits and pieces.

the system was bought for my business, but i had a dabble on what it can do for SPC to be honest.

As for releasing the episodes in this format, hmm. i'm not sure it'd be realistic to be honest, True HD episodes would average about 400-600mb each. i've not looked at HD compression yet.

I want to know how to do as good quality as yours, using VirtualDubMod, I´m really testing everything, even using ffdshow, but I just want some tips from someone as good as you, I don´t really like to ask, but I´m really busy with other stuff right now, so, if you don´t mind try to gve me some tips about encoding in HQ (High Quality).

well dec, i'd need to know what master files you are using before i could really comment, i've been video encoding/editing for nearly 10 years now, so i've worked with everything, bar the CineVideo codec, as the digital versions aren't suitable for production work.

but if you would like a hint or two i could make up a tutorial i suppose.

File size:     175 to 180 MB

I want to do the same HQ as yours using VitualDub or VitualDubMod, Don´t care which codec I use, but the file size can only be from 175 to 200 MB and 640 x 480, no more.

I hope you can give me a guide.

what are the files you're encoding from? dvd masters/vhs masters/TV rips? before i give you a hint i need to know what you're trying to encode to 175mb

I only work with series and movies, all of them are TV rips in Low, Medium or High Quality, but I usually find Low and Medium Quality, it's too hard to find High Quality like yours.

If you don't mind requiring more CPU time to encode/decode...AVC is good bang for your MB.

I don't recommend it if you want to have a large reach, however...XviD/MP3 is still the most common "pick up and play" format out there.

PLEASE, tell us the current situation with the SPC HD encoding:

1) Are you still working on it? If the answer if yes how many episodes are done.
2) Are you planning to release the episodes?
I do understand how much work it will take.
I) First of all we will need a hosting for the files. If we can`t find one we can use http://www.4shared.com/ - create
the necessary ammount of folders

II) Uploading episodes.
This may be a problem - if one episode weight about 650 Mb, then 52 wil weight about 33 gigs. If you have
traffic-limited internet tariff this may cause you inconveniences.

But you can release by torrent. The outgoing traffic is not so expensive (it may be free) . So I don`t think this wil
cost you a lot.

Please, give us some new information. I think all of the SPC fans will tell you BIG THANKS if the HD eps wiil be
released.
